07-08 Season Recap
Basketball was a rousing success this season. A great group of kids participated this season, and one of the best group of basketball spectators we have had.
Conference USA
In Conference USA, Coach Ricky Alston's Cliff Alford Trucking Golden Knights finished on top with 9 wins and 3 losses. Leading scorers in the division were Poppi Jones from the Pirates, 8.5 per game, Zy Ellis of the Golden Knights with 8 per game, and Cam Murphy of the Warriors with 7.9 per game. The Franklin Regional Warriors were coached by Bruce Bullock, and the Pirates were coached by Joe Ferguson.
ACC
In the ACC, it was an exciting season, as coaches Curtis Cooke and Willie Johnson led the Wolfpack to the regular season and tournament championships. The Terps KJ Finley led the league in scoring with 15.3 per night. Cooper Bolton led the Tar Heels with 13.1 per game, Grant Phillips led the Deacons with 3.9 per game, Tyree Thorne led the Wolfpack with 10.1 per game, and Brevonte Bullock led the Devils 6.9. The Devils were coached by Bruce Bullock and sponsored by Pete Smith Garage. The Deacons were coached by Mike Broughton, the Tar Heels by Joe Ferguson, and the Terps by Kenny Finley and Adrian Wilkerson.
NBA
The Nuggets rallied back from the losers bracket to claim the regular season and tournament titles. Finley and Wilkerson coached the squad. Jay Alston with 13.8, and Mailk Finley with 13.3 per game led the Nuggets. Montre Lewis at 11.8, and Devante Reynolds with 10 led the John Cooke coached Lakers. Hakeem Smith at 13.5 and Tavon Perry 12.2 led the Stanley Davis coached Heat. Tevin Hicks at 10.6 led the Terry Haley coached Embroidered Images Spurs.
